Tinnitus studie

Misschien is het interessant om dit hier te posten. Dit jaar op Graspop vond ik affiches van Tinnitus Studie.
Er wordt in heel Europa onderzoek gedaan naar tinnitus, en voor deze studie zijn ze op zoek naar mensen die hieraan voldoen:

* ouder dan 18 jaar en jonger dan 75 jaar zijn,
* last hebben gekregen van tinnitus na een geluidstrauma, barotrauma, middenooroperatie, een traumatische perforatie van het trommelvlies of een middenoorontsteking,
* minder dan 6 maanden last hebben van tinnitus.

Als jij jezelf hier in kan vinden, dan kan je mogelijk meedoen in deze studie en zo het onderzoek naar tinnitus verder helpen (waar we allemaal beter van worden!)

Dit is voor accute tinnitus, jammer genoeg nog steeds niets voor de chronische patienten maar het is alvast een stap in de goede richting.

Misschien dat OTO-311 (een ander middel dat nu getest wordt voor tinnitus) ook voor chronische patienten wat verlichting kan brengen, er zitten wel wat dingen in de pijplijn !

Laat ons niet vergeten dat een medicijn dat tinnitus kan genezen booming business is aangezien meer en meer mensen hier last van krijgen door onze levensstijl waar alles maar luider en luider moet, de eerste die iets vind dat echt werkt mag van mij de nobelprijs winnen en stinkend rijk worden :)

De persoon die hier iets voor vindt wordt stinkend rijk denk ik, geen twijfel aan. Dit is echt een heel groot probleem in de westerse landen aan het worden!

Hoe kan het dat zo'n "NMDA receptors antagonist" een blijvende werking zou creëren en geen tijdelijke?

Ik denk dat AM-102 ook meer gericht is op accute tinnitus, ik zie alvast niet in hoe je chronische tinnitus gaat behandelen met een injectie in het binnenoor, chronische tinnitus is een neurologisch probleem.
Mijn voorkeur gaat vooral naar OTO-311 en SF0034 , er zijn redenen om aan te nemen dat epilepsie en tinnitus gerelateerd zijn in die zin dat het beide een bepaalde overactiviteit is in de hersenen, dus gebeurd er veel onderzoek naar die zaken, vooral naar het anti-epilepsie medicijn retigabine (merknaam Trobalt in Belgie)

Doet me denken aan cannabis Barre, in Colorado geven ze CBD olie aan epilepsie patienten.

Zelf vind ik die stem cell research get coolste, waarbij ze uitzoeken welke stoffen haarcellen in het oor laat groeien.

Er is heel wat waar ze onderzoek naar doen :) ik vind persoonlijk ook wel de stem cell research het coolste, gewoon het principe erachter, maar ik ben gewoon al heel erg blij dat er effectief moeite gedaan wordt om tinnitus geneesbaar te maken.
Ook al kan ik er goed mee leven, als er een oplossing voor is, ik ga er direct voor... al ga ik waarschijnlijk dan moeten leren om te leren leven met de stilte!

Zeker, stem cell research is zeer interessant en ze maken grote vooruitgang in die materie maar het is nog maar de vraag of herstelde trilhaartjes je tinnitus zal doen verdwijnen, er is geen twijfel dat gehoorschade een grote trigger is voor het ontstaan van tinnitus maar eens je het een langere tijd hebt zijn er andere mechanismen die het in stand houden, maar we blijven hoopvol natuurlijk, de wetenschap staat niet stil :)
